Fitting and Parts Support

We support kitchens and service teams with fitting-related help around the parts we supply. These pages cover practical labour, testing and replacement support options.

Fitting and Parts Support

How this support hub helps you choose the right route

This hub brings together the fitting and support options we offer around commercial kitchen spare parts, from elements and thermostats to gaskets, burners and switches. If you already know what failed, you can move straight to the relevant support page. If you are not sure, start with part identification or a compatibility check so you do not waste time on the wrong item.

The aim is simple, keep equipment back in service with the least disruption. We work with kitchens in Midrand, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town and Bloemfontein, and we understand the pressure when a fryer goes down before lunch or a dishwasher stops on a busy supper shift.

Part identification before any fitting work starts

Many faults look the same from the outside. A slow-heating oven can be caused by a tired element, a thermostat issue or damaged wiring. A dishwasher that will not cycle properly may need a switch, control component or door gasket. That is why we start with clear part identification and a compatibility check before fitting is booked.

  • Confirm the equipment type, model details and serial information where available.
  • Check the old part, mounting points, wattage, voltage and connection style.
  • Match the replacement to the actual unit on site, not just the pictures.
  • Flag any extra wear that may affect the repair, such as heat damage or corrosion.

Fitting support for heating and sealing parts

We assist with element fitting, thermostat fitting, gasket fitting and burner fitting for commercial ovens, fryers and related equipment. Correct fitting matters just as much as the part itself, because a loose connection, poor seal or incorrect alignment can lead to repeat breakdowns, higher power use and safety problems.

In coastal areas such as Durban and Cape Town, humidity can affect terminals, seals and switch gear faster than many kitchens expect. Inland, dust and heavy daily use can also shorten part life. Our fitting guidance takes that into account and focuses on proper installation, tidy connections and sensible checks before the unit goes back into service.

When switch panels and controls need attention

Switch panel repairs are often needed when the equipment still has power but one section will not respond correctly. This can show up as intermittent heating, a fan that will not start, or a fryer that trips only when a certain control is used. We help service teams identify the likely faulty component and replace the right part without opening up more of the unit than needed.

  • Switches that feel loose, stick, or do not hold position.
  • Heat controls that jump between settings or fail to stabilise.
  • Worn indicators, connectors and terminals with visible heat marks.
  • Damage caused by cleaning water, steam, or repeated load-shedding restarts.

Dishwasher part fitting and post-fit testing

Dishwashers need careful reassembly because a small seal or connection fault can lead to leaks, poor wash performance or nuisance trips. We support dishwasher part fitting and post-fit testing so the machine is checked after installation, not left to fail during the next rush. That can include checking spray action, water retention, heating response and basic cycling function.

Where needed, we also help with replacement planning for parts that work as a set. For example, a worn gasket and a weak hinge can place strain on a door, while a failed thermostat may point to a bigger heating issue. A proper test after fitting saves time, water and chemicl use, and it often prevents a second callout.

Dispatch from Midrand with support across South Africa

FoodServ Parts Store has operated since 2016 and dispatches from our Midrand base for customers across the country. Questions we get asked

Do you only help with parts bought from FoodServ Parts Store?

We focus on the parts we supply, because that lets us check compatibility properly and advise on fitting, testing and replacement steps that suit the equipment.

Can you help if I only have the old part and not the model number?

Yes, in many cases we can work from the removed part, photos and measurements. A clear image of terminals, seals, threads or mounting holes helps a lot.

Do you offer onsite support outside Gauteng?

Yes. We support national customers from Midrand and can advise on onsite parts support where the job and location make that the right option.
